Experiences

The Ghostbusters Frozen Empire experiences were 2 lenses (Slimer Time and Slimer Call). Both allow users to transform themselves into Slimer from the movie. Gained over 28 million views overall.

The process included rigging the low poly production model and adapting and optimizing textures to create the Slimer character to be used for body tracking in an AR lens.

Testing Rig in Lens Studio

Optimization involved:

  • reducing 30 UDIMs to 1 tile,
  • reducing 750 texture maps to 3,
  • reducing 30 materials to 1,
  • rigged character without legs
The goal was to rig the asset and optimize for further development in the pipeline while keeping the look and feel of the original movie asset.
